Residential real estate activity in Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound picked up slightly last month compared to December 2017.
The Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound (RAGBOS) reports 124 units were sold in December 2018, an 8.8 per cent increase compared to the same month in 2017.
Average prices were largely in line on a year-over-year basis, up just 0.3 per cent from December 2017 to $343,798.
However, RAGBOS says the comprehensive annual average price for 2018 was a record $358,239, up 14.8 per cent compared to 2017.
Total home sales fell in 2018 to 2,816 units, down 15.6 per cent compared to 2017.
"That said, above 2,500 sales is still a solid year for the local housing market," the RAGBOS report explains.
Supply remains at record lows in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound with 547 active residential listing at the end of December, a 3.5 per cent drop compared to the end of 2017.
RAGBOS says the dollar value of all home sales in December 2018 was $42.6 million, rising 9.1 per cent from the same month in 2017.
