Man Interrupts Break And Enter

Owen Sound property owner arrived at his property to find two men taking things from the garage.

An Owen Sound property owner interrupted a break and enter.

City police say just before 11 Tuesday morning, the owner of an unoccupied residence in the south east side of Owen Sound went to his property to check on it.

When he pulled into the driveway, he saw two unknown vehicles on his property.  
Police say he also saw two men exiting his garage with stolen items.

Police were immediately contacted and an officer arrived shortly after.  

The first responding officer encountered the two male suspects, arresting one without incident.  

Police say the second man ran off into a thick bush area.

Through investigation the male who fled has been identified.  

A 57 year old man from Meaford has been charged with Break Enter and Theft.

He will appear in court in Owen Sound on September 12th, 2019.

Police say an arrest warrant will be sought for the known second male who will be facing the same charges.  

All the stolen property was recovered at the scene.
