Last Call For Time Capsule Ideas

South Bruce Peninsula | by John Divinski

South Bruce Peninsula wants ideas for the town's contribution to a county time capsule.

Time is running out and the municipality of South Bruce Peninsula would like to hear from all residents as to what to put in the Bruce County 150th Time Capsule.

At last check, Mayor Janice Jackson says there has been only one suggestion submitted and they're looking for five or six ideas.

Deadline for suggestions is noon on Friday, May 19th.

Whatever is chosen, it will be placed in a time capsule that won't be opened until 2067--Bruce County's 200th birthday.

The time capsule is the size of a small suitcase so the item suggested would need to be small and compact.

Mayor Jackson says people can contact the town or any of the councillors with their suggestions.

Council will make the final decision in a couple of weeks.

Jackson says, if she were submitting an idea, she would try to come up with something representing Wiarton Willie or the Sauble Beach area.

Again, you have until noon, on Friday May 19th to submit your idea.
