I'm wondering today if there will be a Junior B lacrosse playoff game on Sunday night in Owen Sound.
The Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars lead the Windsor A.K.O. Fratmen 2 games to none in their best of 5 opening round series in the Western Conference.
Keep in mind, Windsor is the # 1 seed in the West after posting a record of 15 & 4 in the regular season.
The NorthStars who play in the ultra competitive MidWest Division, squeaked into the playoffs as the # 8 seed, and yet are poised to score the upset with a win tomorrow night when the series resumes at Windsor.
I wonder if there will be a 4th game needed Sunday night at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre for two reasons.
Number 1, make no mistake, based on my observations of game 2, Owen Sound is full marks for being on the verge of staging the series upset.
They jumped on Windsor early, the NorthStar power play clicked, the penalty kill was strong for the longest period, Tom Watkins was better in the Owen Sound goal than either of his Fratmen counterparts, and overall, Owen Sound looked very committed while Windsor looked almost disinterested.
Of course, Owen Sound's season has been personified by the 180 degree turn.
They've lost games they were expected to win, and then posted clutch victories over quality opponents.
Is Windsor done ? Are the NorthStars bound for the Conference semifinals ?
We'll find out tomorrow, and maybe Sunday.
