We're going 5.
Game 5 of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B Western Conference Semifinals are set for tonight in both Elora and at Six Nations.
Both series are tied 2-2 with the winners tonight advancing to the West Final.
While Welland & Six Nations carries some interest, there's no question the primary focus of attention in these parts is the ProTeam NorthStar series with Elora, which has been exciting, if not somewhat perplexing.
The Mohawks won the opener on home floor 11 days ago 9-5 and the NorthStars couldn't capitalize on their chances.
Two nights later in Owen Sound, the big guns for the Stars came through with huge performances in an 11-8 win.
Back in Elora last Saturday, the NorthStars scored their second win, 8-5.
That match had varied reviews; the NorthStars felt they played well, Elora said they were lacking.
And then just 2 nights ago back in Owen Sound, the NorthStars had the game and the series in hand, holding a 6-2 lead after 35 minutes, only to watch Elora shut the door and come off the mat to produce a 9-6 win and send us to game 5.
Most are not surprised the series is going to a 5th game.
What's been surprising is the nature of the matches and tonight, like any deciding game of a playoff series, is anybody's game.
