Top Bus fiascos for Fred on Attack road trips.

At # 5, a lack of heat one winter's night coming from Kitchener.

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

When the Owen Sound Attack were at Kingston this year, the bus had a malfunction on the way home and the team was stranded at the On Route in Trenton for a couple of hours.

It was a bothersome turn of events, no question, but in my mind didn't crack the top 5 in bus fiascos.

At # 5, a lack of heat one winter's night coming from Kitchener.

Years later, I laughed my tailbone off when I was in the Caribbean and the same heat malfunction took place and my replacements froze on the trip to and from North Bay.

At # 4, the night Garrett Wilson got his teeth knocked out at Sault Ste Marie which delayed our departure into a blizzard and meant we tumbled into Tim Hortons at 6 am......in PARRY SOUND, not Owen Sound.

# 3, in 2006, the bus broke down 4 times between Owen Sound and Goderich. A new bus was summoned to get us to Plymouth, which it did. Then the new bus broke down on the way home and we were stranded in Sarnia.

# 2 is the now-famous sleep-over on the bus at Niagara Falls, Ontario on our way home from Erie on a Saturday night. Apparently, the driver put the wrong fuel into the vehicle and it Konked out at Customs leaving us there for 8 hours.

And of course, the # 1 bus fiasco was when Georges the driver from PMCL QUIT at 7:25 am on a Sunday morning in downtown Owen Sound, stopping the bus in front of the Coach Inn and walking off leaving the brass wondering how we were going to get to Plymouth  that day.

So again, while the Kingston gas pedal malfunction was a bother, it wasn't even close to the greatest bus fiasco in Owen Sound's OHL history.

I'm Fred Wallace
