Attack Away, Knights @ Home

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

As the Owen Sound Attack weave their way through an East Division Ontario Hockey League swing through Peterborough, Kingston & Ottawa starting tonight against the Petes, the Knights of Meaford of the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League settle in for a pair of home dates.

Tonight at 7:30 pm, it's the regular Thursday night home game at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre when the Knights host the Bradford Rattlers.

Then on Saturday night when the New Tecumseth Civics come to Meaford, it's something very special; A Touch of Taryn Game.

The game honours the memory of Taryn Hill who perished in a fire in 2013.

The lead organizers have been motivated to keep Taryn's touch alive by participating in a variety of activities over the last 5 years that have raised significant funds for various community organizations.

On Saturday, the Knights will wear customized jerseys that will be auctioned off, along a number of other initiatives to raise money.

All the funds generated by the game and the Touch of Taryn initiative will be directed to the Meaford Hospital Foundation.

So the Knights have a big home game tonight at 7:30 against Bradford and then a very special home game against New Tecumseth Saturday night at 7 pm.

I'm Fred Wallace
