The final week of the Ontario Hockey League season for the Owen Sound Attack begins tonight at Flint.
And while the Attack are going to play the game, the London Knights are going to play the " waiting " game.
As it stands now, the Attack KNOW that they're going to face London in the first round of the playoffs.
And the Knights KNOW they're going to face Owen Sound in the opening round of the post season.
The biggest remaining question is, ' who gets home ice ? '
Currently, the Knights would have home ice as they sit with 80 points on the season riding a 6 game win streak.
However, the Attack who have won 3 in a row including extra time wins over heavyweights Barrie & the Sault, have points in their last 4 which leaves them 2 points behind London.
Both teams have 3 games to play this week.
The Attack will play their first of their three tonight at Flint.
Tomorrow, Owen Sound plays again, this time at Windsor.
So by the time London plays the first of their remaining 3 games, Friday at home to Sarnia, they'll have 1 of 5 scenarios in front of them.
After the Attack road games, the Knights could be;
- 2 points back of Owen Sound
- 1 point back of Owen Sound
- tied with Owen Sound
- 1 point up on Owen Sound
OR, in the event the Attack go 0 & 2 on the road this week, London could have home ice nailed down before they hit the ice Friday against the Sting.
It's an exciting little derby for home ice this week, but understandably, this week will be pale compared to what comes next.
