Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
Thursday Night is Hockey Night in Meaford and tonight the Knights will play their second home game of the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League regular season when they host the Bradford Rattlers.
The Knights have played 3 of their 4 games this year on the road; losing their opener at New Tecumseth, going back 1 week later to Alliston drop the Civics and then losing their last outing in a shootout at South Muskoka.
In all honesty, their lone home game wasn't much of a game at all, an 11-2 wipeout of Wiarton, so the hope is for a vastly better and more entertaining contest tonight.
And it should be.
The Rattlers are 3rd in the North Division with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss and & 1 shootout loss, which puts the Bradford squad just 1 point back of Almaguin for 2nd in the division & 3 points back of undefeated Ville Marie who are 9 & 0 and reside in 1st place.
The Knights, as mentioned, have played just 4 games on the year, far and away less than anyone else, so they should be primed to face the challenge of the Rattlers tonight.
Tonight's game is also the first in a sequence of 3 games in 3 & 1/2 days for Meaford.
After tonight's encounter with the Rattlers, Meaford will be at home again Saturday night against the Ottawa Sharpshooters and then travel to Wiarton Sunday afternoon to face the Schooners.
Both Ottawa & Wiarton are winless on the season, so a win tonight at home over the Rattlers might be the launching pad for a productive weekend.
Game time for Bradford & the Knights this evening is 7:30 pm at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.
