Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "
All I'm saying is the Owen Sound Attack are at home tonight against the Kitchener Rangers.
I'm not certain who will or who won't be in the lineup, and there's no WAY I can go into the events of yesterday; fact or fiction, because they're too wild to believe.
Game time is 7 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
So instead of the OHL divisional rivalry with Kitchener and the never ending intrigue of the trade deadline when the team you cover is a " seller ", lets' talk about the peaceful world of curling.
Actually, that peaceful patch of local sports is fairly volatile as tonight marks the final night of the Brokerlink Insurance Grey Bruce Major Curling League's regular season.
Because the rinks at Tara & paisley have 3 sheets, they've split the matches with 2 games being played on each surface.
But that's not the volatile part.
First, in Paisley, Al Hutchinson meets Brett McAllister with the winner claiming 1st place in the standings.
Meanwhile, Don Bartley who plays at Tara tonight and Shawn Kaufman who has the bye are guaranteed spots in the playoff round.
But after that, the remaining 5 rinks all have a shot at making the post season and depending how it shakes out tonight, it could be an mathematical nightmare.
But that's what you want; a 9 rink league, a battle for 1st and a scramble for the remaining members of the field on the final night of the season.
It's not as wacky as the Owen Sound Attack scenario, but the Brokerlink Insurance Curling story does have some remarkable plot twists heading to tonight.
Attack-Kitchener at 7
Paisley at 8
Tara at 8:30.
Have a great day
I'm Fred Wallace
