Double Up Hockey

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "

Since we did it yesterday, let's lump two items together again today.

First, congratulations to the Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Construction Junior Attack Peewees who won the International Silver Stick at Port Huron, Michigan last weekend.

In the final, Harold Sutherland Construction defeated Quinte West Hawks 5-1 to cap a dominating run of 6 straight victories.

At the conclusion of the tournament Owen Sound goalie Ethan Dunbar, forward Nathan Garrett, and defenceman Leighton Hurst were named to the Tournament All Star team plus Garrett also was selected as the tournament MVP.

Meanwhile in the Bantam Final, the Owen Sound Kunkel Bus Lines Attack lost to Cambridge in the Championship Game. The heartbreak for Owen Sound is that they defeated Cambridge earlier in the tournament.

Good Luck to the Leeder & Associate Attack who are scheduled to compete at the International Atom Silver Stick this weekend at Sarnia.

Our other hockey note, is we'll see you tonight in Meaford as the Knights play the back end of their home & home against the Bradford Bulls in the Greater Metro Junior Hockey league

Game time tonight is 7:30 at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.

I'm Fred Wallace
