Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
There's an NBA showdown tonight in Toronto as the Raptors host the Milwaukee Bucks in their final head-to-head of the regular season.
Milwaukee leads the Eastern Conference by a 1/2 game over Toronto, primarily on the strength of a record of winning 2 of the previous 3 meetings.
Milwaukee won the first 2 games against the Raptors, once in Milwaukee in October and then in Toronto in early December.
In their last encounter earlier this month in Milwaukee, Toronto prevailed 123-116.
Aside from the head-to-head matchups, the other factor that explains Milwaukee's tiny lead is that the Bucks have never lost back to back games all season- think about that.
The Raptors who come in at 37 & 15 have been beaten 3 times back to back and have one 3 game losing streak on their docket.
Regardless, this is a very significant matchup for both teams and with the playoffs 2 & 1/2 months away, this showdown is a terrific primer to whet your appetite for the post season.
Two other quick notes.
The WOAA Senior Hockey appeal by the Tavistock Royals will be heard today and the outcome could alter the initial playoff pairings and dates for the 8 " AA " contestants.
It's important to state that the result of the appeal does not and will not impact the " A " matchups and dates for the Shallow Lake Crushers--Milverton series or the Lucknow Lancers-Elora series.
And I hope to see everyone tonight in Meaford when the Knights host the Bradford Bulls
Game time is 7:30 at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.
