Big Night for Junior Attack

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

It's a big weekend for hockey in Owen Sound and in the region.

Take your pick from the PJHL Semifinal games, to the Knights of Meaford Quarterfinal, to WOAA Senior Playoff action to the Ontario Hockey League, there's something for everyone.

From an OHL standpoint, the Owen Sound Attack will try and snap a 3 game losing skid this weekend with home games against Erie tomorrow night and then Sunday afternoon against Niagara.

The scenario for the Attack has been well documented, certainly in this segment, so why don't we talk about the Junior Attack today.

Two teams from the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group have OMHA Quarterfinal matchups tonight at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.

First, the Owen Sound Leeder & Associates Major Atom Attack are hosting Oakville in Game 3 of their best of 5 series.

Leeder & Associates leads the  series 2 games to none after winning the opening two games 5-1 & 2-0.

The Atom Attack look to advance tonight when they host Oakville at 7:15 pm.

The Major Atom game will be followed at 8:30 pm by an OMHA Major Bantam game pitting the Kunkel Bus Lines Junior Attack against Oakville.

That series has become a 6 point series after Kunkel Bus Lines won the opener 4-1 and then tied the second match 3-3.

The Bantam Junior Attack will be looking to grab a stranglehold on the series with a win tonight

Minor Hockey, Greater Metro, PJHL, & WOAA Playoffs or the OHL Attack....Have a great weekend.

I'm Fred Wallace
