Playoffs, playoffs

Fred

By Fred Wallace

A very solid Minor Hockey season for the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group comes to a head this weekend with at least two, maybe four games for Junior Attack teams.

The OMHA Atom " A " Championship resumes tonight at the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre when the Leeder & Associate Attack go against the Barrie Junior Colts.

The best of 5 is tied 1-1 after both teams won on the road last weekend.

In the opener at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre, the Junior Colts scored a well deserved 5-2 win.

The consensus from most Owen Sounders after the game was there wasn't a huge difference between the two clubs.

That proved to be accurate a day later when the Junior Attack went into Barrie and evened the series with a 3-1 victory.

Remarkably, after the OMHA game, Leeder & Associates skated over to Essa and took game 1 of their Georgian Bay series, also 3-1.

Back to the OMHAs. Game time tonight is 7:15 at the Rec Centre.

Game 4 is tomorrow afternoon at Barrie

And IF a 5th game is needed, it comes back to the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm

Meanwhile in the OMHA Peewee " A " Championship, the Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Construction Attack find themselves down 2-0 against the Quinte West Hawks

In Trenton last weekend, the Hawks won 7-2 & 5-4.

Game 3, do or die for the Sutherland Construction crew is Saturday at 3:30 at the Bayshore.

IF Owen Sound wins tomorrow afternoon, it will extend the series to Game 4 on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm, again at the Bayshore

Go Attack Go, is a popular statement whether we're talking about the OHL'ers at Sault Ste Marie or the Junior Attack this weekend in Owen Sound.

Have a great weekend
