Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
There's a common belief among Canadian Football League fans that the season really doesn't begin until Labour Day.
I understand that concept, but for the Toronto Argonauts & the BC Lions, barring unexpected miracles, their seasons are essentially over now, plus if the Ottawa RedBlacks don't beat the Argos on Saturday afternoon in the Nations Capital, then their season, in terms of a post season, is also in jeopardy.
It's a fairly solid bet that Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton and somebody, either Montreal or Ottawa will be in the CFL Playoffs.
Meanwhile tomorrow night in Chicago, the NFL season commences with the Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North matchup.
Checking with Bob the Bookie, both the Bears & Packers have decent odds for Super Bowl 54.
Bob has the Bears listed at 12-1, the third best odds on his board today, while the Packers are 20-1 on Bob The Bookie's " Big Board ".
While we're talking about the NFL season and odds, I'd like to invite you to join me tomorrow afternoon and evening at Playtime Casino Hanover.
The Match Eatery & Public House will be kicking off the 2019 NFL season with a lot of great prizes, some interesting games and plenty of fun
Corn Hole, Giant Jenga and Connect 4 plus some terrific NFL jersey giveaways.
The CFL season heads to the stretch, the NFL season opens tomorrow and we'll spend Opening Night at Match Eatery & Public House at Playtime Casino Hanover.
