Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "
When outlining the sequence of PJHL and WOAA Senior Hockey games yesterday, I neglected to mention another interesting matchup that's taking place in the region.
The Durham Lady Huskies and the Lucknow Legends are playing a Senior Ladies Playoff Series which quickly evolved from a best of 3 into a 4 point series.
In the opener in Durham, aka " The Dog Pound ", the Lady Huskies and Lucknow played to a 1-1 draw.
Game 2 in the series is set for tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 pm in Lucknow and then the potential deciding game ( barring any further tie games ) will be Sunday morning at 11:30 am back at the " Dog Pound ".
Personally, I'm going to sequester myself at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre Saturday night & Sunday afternoon for an Ontario Hockey League doubleheader and a crucial one at that.
The Owen Sound Attack will host the Erie Otters this weekend to close out their 6 game regular season head-to-head session.
To this point, Owen Sound has won 3 of the 4 meetings, but in every case, the games have been one goal games by and large.
As we speak, Owen Sound is 7th in the Western Conference, Erie is 8th.
Owen Sound has 59 points. Erie has 57.
It's conceivable with Erie playing tonight at Kitchener, the Otters could be somewhat fatigued ( we'll get into the schedule some other day )
It's also conceivable with the Otters facing a Rangers team that has stumbled and bumbled in their last 3 outings, that Erie and Owen Sound could be tied in points by this time tomorrow night, making the weekend that much more significant for both teams.
Add to the weekend of hockey options, Senior Ladies Hockey in Lucknow & Durham plus a crucial OHL doubleheader in Owen Sound.
Have a great weekend
I'm Fred Wallace
