Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
Just before the sports world at every level was halted there was a neat session conducted at, and for the benefit of, the Big Bruce Volleyball Club.
Three time Canadian Olympic volleyball player, Mark Heese visited the club and offered a sequence of instructions designed to assist with the players skill level and the many other aspects of how to play the game, or play the sport the way the elite players do.
Along with the physical tips for volleyball, Mark Heese also spoke of methods for improved concentration, for better team communication and illustrated how to stay stronger for longer with upgraded energy.
Without being on hand, I'm certain the instruction and input from Mark Heese was extremely valuable.
How could it not be ?
As a player, Heese represented Canada at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, the highlight being winning the Bronze Medal in Beach Volleyball in 1996.
When someone plays and excels on the biggest stage in sports, you have to respect their perspective and for Heese, he's shared that perspective, not just in Chesley, but far beyond as he works for Canuck Stuff Sports, participates as an elite youth coach and, as exhibited with the Big Bruce Volleyball Club, is a motivational speaker.
The Big Bruce Volleyball Club has almost 40 players from Grey-Bruce.
It will be interesting to see the results when they return to the court after their session with Olympian Mark Heese.
