Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Owen Sound are staging the " Golf for Kids Sake " on Saturday at Scenic City Golf Course.


Registration starts at 11 am

Tee off is at 12:30 pm


The day includes 18 holes including cart + Barbeque Dinner & more.

The annual Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk will be staged Saturday from 7:45am - 11:30am at the Meaford Harbour Pavilion 


Come to the Farmer’s Market at the Harbour between 4 and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 13th to pick up your race kit 


Or registration can also be done on race day morning from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.


The Run will start at 9 a.m. and the Walk will start at 9:02 am. 


All proceeds raised from this event support the Meaford Hospital Foundation.

The annual Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen’s Association Pork & Beef Barbecue, is set for Saturday from 4-7pm. 




Owen Sound Girl’s Field Lacrosse will host teams from around the province at the Owen Kiwanis Complex this weekend


More than 10 teams from under 9 to seniors will be competing in the tournament to determine standings prior to Provincials later this month.


Owen Sound will also welcome the Under 19 team from Harrogate, England for an exhibition game as part of the activities on Sunday.

Mount Forest is hosting the " Get Yer Hillbilly On " RibFest on Thursday July 19th as a kickoff to the annual Fireworks festival.


Ribfest, in memory of Owen Sound Sun Times reporter Bill Walker, will be conducted at the Mount Forest Community Centre from 6-9 pm & feature amateur rib competition, sampling, dinner + live music.


Proceeds from the event go to Youth Sports & Cancer Patient Services.

The 23rd Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Tournament for Muscular Dystrophy research will be held on Friday July 20th at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.


Through the years, the tournament has generated funding of almost $1.4 million dollars for MD research.




The OASA Midget Fastball Championship Tournament will be staged in Owen Sound.


The Championship Tournament will be staged at Duncan McLellan Park July 28th & 29th.




The 54th annual Tom Sims Memorial Fastball Tournament will be conducted July 27th - 29th at Croft Athletic Field in Meaford.




The Gran Fondo Lake Huron is Sunday August 19th.


The cycling event which features 30K, 70K, 110K & 160K distances begins & finishes in Southampton

The annual Communiski for Nordic Skier Julian Smith is Sunday August 26th at 5:00 pm

The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival Is going " Western " this year.


The 2018 invasion will start during the first week of September and continue till after the Thanksgiving weekend.


The parade on Sykes Street and Family Festival Hoedown at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion is scheduled for Friday, September 28.

The annual Coyote Race for Elementary School students will be staged on Saturday September 29th




The 2018 Ontario Minor Track Association Provincial Cross Country Meet will be hosted by the Georgian Bay Coyotes on Saturday October 27th.


The Coyotes will utilize the Georgian Bay Community School Athletic Field and part of the Georgian Trail.




The Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be Saturday October 27th.
